    What is SNAP
    Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) | USDA-FNS

    SNAP stands for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. SNAP is a federal program that helps millions of low-income Americans put food on the table. Across the United States there are 9.5 million families with children on SNAP. It is the largest program working to fight hunger in America.

    If you need SNAP benefits, you can apply online through ACCESS HRA.

    COVID-19 Alert

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an interview may not be required at this time. You may be able to get Expedited Processing if your income is less than your rent or mortgage plus heat, utilities and phone bills. For more information call HRA’s Infoline at 718-557-1399.

    Emergency Home Food Delivery

    What is Emergency Home Food Delivery

    If you cannot go out to get food, no one can bring you food, and/or you are not able to use private delivery options, New York City will deliver emergency meals to you in the coming days. Check your eligibility and sign up.

    COVID-19 Food Assistance

     

    How to Apply

    This website is intended for individuals and families who meet all of the following criteria as a result of the COVID-19 emergency:

    • No members of the household can go out and get food because they are at increased medical risk or homebound
    • No neighbors or family members can go out and get food for you
    • Do not receive meal assistance from other providers (incl. Meals on Wheels or God’s Love We Deliver); and
    • You are unable to afford meal delivery or grocery delivery

    Households that qualify may order two food deliveries per week at a time for up to two weeks. The first delivery will be delivered within six days of the initial order date.
