    CIDA Community Center Programs

    OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

     

    CIDA is excited to announce the opening of our brand new Community Center.

    The beautifully remodeled space will host a variety of enriching classes and programs such as studio and digital arts, culinary courses, book clubs, and more.

    The Community Center is located at 36-28 Bell Blvd and will be opening March 2nd, 2023.

    Community Classes Spring 2023

    Storytellers Club
    Mondays 1:00pm – 2:30pm ($100 per session)
    Facilitated by James Grammer

    Whether you write professionally or as a hobby, or simply just love to use your imagination, you can become an inspiring writer at Storytellers Club! Storytellers Club is a creators’ workshop in which participants can share their writing ideas with one another and publish them online and offline. All genres will be accepted, including poetry, fiction, journaling, nonfiction, children’s books, drama, etc. Participants will explore various themes, develop creative ideas, and learn tools and tips which they can apply to their writing or storytelling.

    Arts & Crafts
    Wednesday 10:00am – 11:45am ($100 per session)
    Led by guest artists

    Socialize while enjoying arts and crafts alongside guest artists each week! Activities will explore a variety of artistic mediums and help to develop foundational skills. Participants will explore basic drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, collages, pottery making, paper art and more.

    Cooking Basics
    Monday 10:00am – 11:45am ($100 per session)
    Taught by a classically trained Sushi Chef

    Learn basic cooking skills with simple and delicious recipes! You will also learn to work on knives and other kitchen tools, and how to prep ingredients. Each week, you will explore different cultural foods, cooking methods, and general tips.

    Digital Art and Design
    Tuesday 10:00am – 11:30am ($100 per session)
    Led by Victoria Levy

    Calling all creatives – this course will provide you with the basic skills needed to create digital designs or illustrations! We will discuss important elements of design such as shape, line, and color, while creating new projects and expanding the way that we approach art and design. No prior experience is necessary, all skill levels are welcome.
