Greetings from Our Executive Director

Time has slipped through our fingers! We are already in September. CIDA has exciting events and programs geared up for Fall 2023, including the Gala 2023, Art Festival, CoSpire Career Program and new parent workshops!

The 2023 CIDA Gala will present not only our achievements and future plans for youth and young adults with disabilities, but also CIDA’s long-term plans to grow together as a community. In addition, the gala will feature a beautiful show by four Broadway performers, so please join us!

On September 23, CIDA’s annual Very Special Art Festival will be held in St. John’s University. This year, we have prepared an award ceremony, an exhibition, and fun activities. More information will follow.

Summer Showcase: Art Exhibition by CoSpire Art Group and Art Class Students

CIDA’s Summer Showcase was a resounding success! Over the course of a week, our talented summer program students unveiled stunning artworks to the public. Visitors admired their creativity and many supported these young artists by purchasing their beautiful pieces.

Friendship Saturdays: Adult Socialization Group

CIDA Community Center’s Friendship Saturday initiative is thriving! Our biweekly gatherings bring together people of all abilities for activities like cooking, art, crafts, and meditation. It’s more than a gathering – it’s a place where friendships blossom and inclusivity is celebrated. Stay tuned for the upcoming schedule!

Abuse Prevention & Sex Education

Last Saturday’s session at CIDA on abuse prevention & sex education was an enlightening experience. With around 30 participants, we explored vital subjects from basic sexual understanding to prevention methods.
